Special Issue on: “Cloud Computing”
With the rapid development of computing hardware, high-speed network, web programming, distributed and parallel computing, and other technologies, cloud computing has recently emerged as a commercial reality. In cloud computing, infrastructures, platforms, and software (applications) are all services, which can be delivered to users over the cloud. A public cloud will be available in a pay-as-you-go model to consumers. There are already many reports that investments in Cloud computing over the next few years will be increasing at a rate that we have never seen so far, which will bring significant benefits to Cloud users.
Technically, Cloud computing is still to mature and there are still many challenges, including fundamental models, infrastructures and architectures, provision of services and development of applications.
At a leading academic journal, we launch this timely special issue to provide a platform for researchers worldwide of relevant fields to present their state-of-the-art research in Cloud Computing technology. Original research papers are sought on a wide range of cloud computing topics, for example:
l Cloud Computing Models
n Computing and programming models
n Emerging business and economics models
n Fault-tolerance, reliability and consistency models
n Trustworthiness, privacy and security models
n Models for evolution and migration of technology/applications in cloud environment
